Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser

Our first real glimpse at the upcoming Star Trek sequel looks pretty intense, but the question still somewhat remains, who is Benedict Cumberbatch playing? Rumors seem to be settling between Gary Mitchell and Kahn. Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think.

Dumb Ways Continues

Haven’t been writing too often so I just wanted to assure you wonderful folk that I’m still around. We’ve been treated to Dumb Ways to Die, and Cool Things to Find took its turn. There’s been some fun parodies of the catchy jingle, but I’ve got to say my gamer bias dictates I must enjoy this one. The dancing animation isn’t very good, but the take on the song is great. Good job Megasteakman.

Skyfall Review

What You Need to Know:

Daniel Craig returns to the role of MI6 agent, James Bond, under the watchful eye of Sam Mendes (Jarhead). He is joined at MI6 by the perrenial Dame Judi Dench and newcomers Ralph Fiennes as Gareth Mallory, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Naomie Harris as Eve. MI6 must take on the mysterious and sinister Silva played by Javier Bardem. This film chronicles the story as Bond hunts down a terrorist who has stolen a hard drive which contains the identities of all NATO agents currently undercover.

Warning: I try to avoid spoilers in my reviews, but sometimes it is inevitable. Keep that in mind as you proceed past the jump.

Wreck-It Ralph Review

What You Need to Know:

Before the feature, you will see the beautiful short Paperman from director John Kahrs about a man who meets a woman at the train station, but the only token he has to remember her is a sheet with her lipstick.

Rich Moore makes his feature length directorial debut on this highly anticipated Disney/Pixar film. John C. Reilly provides the voice for the titular Ralph, a Donkey Kong-like villain in an old arcade game. After thirty years of being the villain, Ralph decides to abandon his game to venture out into other games and become a hero. Ralph’s opposite, Fix-It Felix Jr. (Jack McBrayer) must track down Ralph to prevent the game from being unplugged.

Warning: I generally avoid spoilers, but there will possibly be a few spoilers for early scenes in the film. I will also go very in depth on the short, Paperman.

More Minecraft Skins for Halloween

Windows 8 isn’t the only release to look forward tomorrow. Yeah, there’s some silly movie called Cloud Atlas that Danny thinks you should see. But here’s what I’m pumped for: More Minecraft skins for the Xbox 360 Edition. 55 skins in total including those above for the regular price of $2. What’s so special this time around? Your $2 is going to such charities as Macmillan Cancer Support, Child’s Play, SANDS Lothians and Block by Block.

Dibs on the floaty skeleton guy.

Evil Dead (Remake) Trailer

Well it’s here.

I have to disagree with people that Evil Dead should have been remade, but this isn’t that remake. Yes, the original went all out for that true horror feel, but starting with Evil Dead 2 and continuing in Army of Darkness, the movies became more campy and bordered comedy. Watching this trailer, I’m reminded of Cabin in the Woods which to certain degree spoofs this entire scenario. I’m most disappointed in the gore porn direction this one is going in. And don’t get me wrong, the original had plenty of gore, but this one seems to be using the gore in a way movies like Saw and Hostel made popular. But no matter what I think, this one got the Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell stamp of approval.
