Pokemon X & Y Annouced

If you are around my age, then you grew up when Pokemon began its rise in popularity here in the United States. For me, Pokemon captured me with its simplistic RPG elements and “gotta catch ’em all” mantra that make a completionist’s wet dream. Yesterday, Nintendo announced the first set of games (since they always release in twos) developed for the 3DS.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y brings a brand new generation of Pokemon to an updated platform. For the first time, in a long time, Pokemon looks different from anything that I remember. They will finally show Pokemon use their attack animations in full 3D.

What else can I say? They hooked me into Pokemon again.

Wii U Details Annouced

Arriving two days after the sixth birthday of the original Wii; Nintendo is releasing their next console, called the Wii U. If you have been living under a rock, then the Wii U features HD gaming and a touch screen controller to go along with the console. Sounds like a bit of a gimmick? Well so does most of the other Nintendo products. But after spending a little bit of time with the controller at PAX, I can say that it can lead to some very interesting projects. Either way, Nintendo has released the product information and “four-month” launch line-up.
