Right before you stuff your face this Thanksgiving, listen to a new episode of the Call Yourself A Nerd Podcast. This week we talk about trailers, movie news, some video games and some comics including our understanding of the English language.
A new episode of the Call Yourself A Nerd Podcast drops this week. On the show; Danny and Ricky talk about the new trailers for Ender’s Game and Thor, announcements from D23, and other musings that lurched from our heads.
Marvel has released a new trailer for Thor: The Dark World which features both more of the action and more Loki. Take a look!
We may have our first glimpse of Algrim/Kurse (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) behind Loki in the Asgardian prison cell. We also see a Kronan. Extreme wishful thinking, but could this be an early tease for Korg in a Planet Hulk movie? I know, I know. Kronans originally appeared facing down Thor in an issue of Journey Into Mystery, but a guy can dream!
Currently, it is Geek Week on YouTube and several of our favorite channels are pulling out all the stops to strut their stuff. The folks from Tested featured Mike McMaster who creates real life robots. Him and his group previously worked on a functional R2-D2, but now they are building a robot that has tugged at all our heart-strings.
From its namesake Pixar film, a real life Wall-E rolls out of the screen and into our world. With a little elbow grease, Mike has captured the CGI robot by constructing something you can play with.

We feel that it has been an accomplishment and would like to thank any fans of the show that have listened to the podcast. Here’s to hoping that we go strong with another year of the podcast. Good morning. It’s time to get rid of those Monday blues with a brand new episode of the Call Yourself A Nerd Podcast. This week your hosts talk about new Marvel Studios news with the release of the Phase 1 collection, our usual array of tangents with comic news and then we pay our respects to the closing of LucasArts. Hope you enjoy!
Mickey Mouse has been in only a handful of shorts in the past thirty years. Quite a difference from a character that started his rise in shorts (Get it? Because he wears shorts). Disney has now set up to release a full series of shorts within the next few months, but there’s a catch. Unlike previously shorts, these shorts will be featured on TV and online instead of the movie theater.
The first short was released yesterday, titled Croissant de Triomphe. There are some great gags and I’m absolutely in love with the art style that they have chosen.
Scoot past the jump to watch the short.
Good morning, nerds! We bring you a brand new episode of the Call Yourself a Nerd Podcast today. This week; Danny and Ricky talk about new Marvel comic movies news including the new Spider-Man costume, the sorta-sequel to 100 Bullets, thoughts about some new trailers, and rumors about a Justice League movie.
First full trailer for Monsters University has hit the internet. It has a few scenes that have floated around in featurettes and such, but the jokes are still good. I felt Pixar’s last two films were fairly bad, but seeing this trailer has given me hope that they are back on the right track.
