Hit the jump to find all those goodies.
- Movies – $10
Like you have any choice. This week, you will go to the movie theater and sit your butt down to watch the Amazing Spider-Man. It is a great, fun movie to start July with. Then you can try to make your own decisions as to who is in the credits at the end of the movie. Yes, you need to sit through the credits to watch one more scene. You will enjoy Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and forget about a dance number with a wannabe Peter Parker. Hell, Tobey Maguire might as well as been a clone and we all hate Spider-Man clones.
- Games – FREE
If you have not been playing Team Fortress 2 already then you need to crawl from under your rock and download this awesome first-person shooter that is free-to-play. Just last week they released the update for the Pyro class along with a video. TF2 is an awesome, high-speed game that I am sure you enjoy. It is on the PC (from Steam), so make sure your system can run it. And I know I said that it is free-to-play but they do charge for the special little hats that you can add on to your character.
- Comics – $20
We first heard of the Earth One take on the DC Comics trinity back in 2009. This was shortly after the failed attempt to copy Marvel’s Ulitmate Comics with DC’s own All-Star line (All-Star Superman is a must read but I do not think anyone can wipe the taste of Frank Miller’s All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder). In 2010, we saw Superman Earth One which was the first instance of Superman in another different costume because of the creator lawsuits. But we had to wait all this time for Batman’s re imaging in Batman Earth One. This series written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Gary Frank, neither known for work on Batman. Either way, I am still beyond excited to see this hardcover come to life finally.
That is it for this week’s edition of Cheap Date. It was a slow week since a lot of outlets were taking some time off due to the holiday and not to mention getting out of the way of Amazing Spider-Man, which is already at over $35 million. Come on back next week for another edition.
