Cheap Date: Mar 27th

Good morning! We have a brand new edition of Cheap Date on this hump day to help you find a few things to finish out the week. In this article, I recommend a slew of nerdy entertainment available this week and the best part about it is that altogether it will be no more than $30.

Hit the jump to read my recommendations.

This week is probably one of the best weeks so far this year. We have a movie that was supposed to come out last year, but it still looks fun enough to watch. We have a game that received stellar reviews across the board. And we have comics that look to shape the future in different ways. Anyway, I’m putting the cart before the horse. Let’s get to the recommendations.

Movie – $11

G.I. Joe: Retaliaion

The sequel to 2009’s poorly pandered G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was initially slated for June 2012 but then was pushed way back to this weekend in 2013, more than half a year later. That should put some fear into fans, but trailers actually look good for this one. It looks fun and cheesy without being completely outrageous (Remember those suits in the first movie?).

Comics – $15

Batman Incorporated #9

After this issue, Grant Morrison only has nine more issues of Batman Incorporated which may lead to some epic moments. Not to mention that this will be Morrison’s take on Batman’s handling the death of Damian after we have already seen some great issues (Batman and Robin #19).

Guardians of the Galaxy #1

Jump aboard the relaunch of this brand new series, especially if you want to learn about the character in Marvel Studios next big project. If the Guardians are not your cup of tea, then you may be excited that Iron Man will be joining the team as well. Not to mention we get to Steve McNiven drawing!

Time Warp #1

If you love anthologies as much as I do, then you will love Time Warp #1! You have an all-star cast of writers with Jeff Lemire, Mark Buckingham and Damon Lindelof. Not to mention you also get more Dead Boy Detectives!

But if those do not fit your fancy and you want to spend more this week, then there is a AAA game coming from 2K Games that has everyone in a titter.

Special Optional!

Game – $60

BioShock Infinite

For the people who want a deep and very thought-provoking story along with some great game play, then you should jump on BioShock Infinite on the big three platforms. This game is Ken Levine at his finest, it is a must-play for avid gamers.

Well, that will do it for me this week. I hope you enjoy everything I recommended and you will come back for more Cheap Date next week.
