The Monster – Eminem ft. Rihanna
Why is Eminem so popular? Well he puts his all into his work and he has such a way with words,
cause all I wanted to do’s be
The Bruce Lee of loose leaf
Eminem always makes interesting videos and this newest is no different. We get to relive some of his past videos alongside the monster within. Rihanna is a sexy therapist and rocks dark lipstick while singing one of the most popular hooks of this year. The imagery is pretty dark, but all in all a simple visual metaphor for a great song. Enjoy!

The Girls with Chemical X are Coming Back
Personally, I believe the cartoons that came out during the late 90’s-early 00’s were some of the best American animation to come out on TV which included Cartoon Network’s “Cartoon Cartoons” block. “Cartoon Cartoons” introduced many of us to Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog and the heroes from Townsville: The Powerpuff Girls.
Last year, they revealed that an hour-long CGI special, titled The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pants R-EVIL-ution, will bring the lovable trio back to the screen. Today, we found out the special will finally air next month on January 20th at 7:30PM.
I cannot wait to see how well they adapt a favored series without the original creator’s input.

Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep – A few questions to entice you to read…
The Shining was an amazing book, but of course with any great story you end up having more questions. The sequel answers many of the questions I had. (Mainly, the specifics of the Shining.) We get an in-depth look at the gift or curse that is “The Shining”. Little Danny Torrence is grown up and has inherited a nasty habit from his father. That could’ve been the end of Danny’s story, but he is not the only one with the shining. A young girl is dealing with the same demons that Danny has and she needs help.
- How did Danny come to possess the Shining?
- What happened to Danny’s imaginary friend, Tony?
- Are the spirits of The Overlook Hotel gone for good?

The Fat Man – A Tale of North Pole Noir by Ken Harmon
Fired from his longtime job as captain of the Coal Patrol, two-foot-three-inch, 1,300-year-old elf Gumdrop Coal is angry. He’s one of Santa’s original elves, inspired by the fat man’s vision to bring joy to children on that one special day each year. But somewhere along the way, things went sour for Gumdrop. Maybe it was delivering one too many lumps of coal for the Naughty List. Maybe it’s the conspiracy against Christmas that he’s starting to sense down every chimney.
Either way, North Pole disillusionment is nothing new: Some elves brood with a bottle of nog, trying to forget their own wish list. Some get better. Some get bitter. Gumdrop Coal wants revenge. Justice is the only thing he knows, and so he decides to give a serious wakeup call to parents who can’t keep their vile offspring from landing on the Naughty List. But when one parent winds up dead, his eye shot out with a Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model BB gun, Gumdrop Coal must learn who framed him and why. Along the way he’ll escape the life-sucking plants of the Mistletoe Forest, battle the infamous Tannenbomb Giant, and survive a close encounter with 12 very angry drummers and their violent friends. The horrible truth lurking behind the gingerbread doors of Kringle Town could spell the end of Christmas – and of the fat man himself. Holly Jolly!
I read this book a few years ago and it is a story I find myself circling back to each holiday season. Every time I see A Christmas Story on TV I think about how the characters fit flawlessly into this story of an elf turned detective. It pulls the right nostalgic strings and also manages to be a fun tale of North Pole Noir. The above summary gives you a pretty good idea of what the book is about, but I feel the amazing way this story references other works is what makes it special. Spoilers, there is a trip to the island of misfit toys! Seriously, give it a shot!
I. Crawl – Childish Gambino
I. Crawl – Childish Gambino
I have been listening to Childish Gambino‘s new album for the last week (on&off). I am surprised that Crawl is not his first single, it has a great beat and energy to it, but his first and second singles 3005 and Sweatpants are also fine choices.
The artist looks familiar you say? Well, many may already know him for his comedic side as he is best known as the actor Donald Glover. Still no bells? He plays Troy on Community! While watching his performance on Jimmy Kimmel I was fascinated by how different he was on stage. He still has that presence that keeps you watching him, but his demeanor is more focused and you can feel his passion for the music.
If you read my music posts, you know by now that I am addicted to words and the referential lyrics in this track really tickle me.
And I’m only looking back if I’m looking at her booty
(At her Boooty)Yeah. I murder some, I murder one
Explain it all, Ferguson

Hump Day!
“Do you know what day it is?” What what!
Yeah, it’s a hump day remix…. that is all the explanation you need right?
Timber – Pitbull feat. Ke$ha
hahahaha, I am so tickled by this song. I just find it hilarious. It is a catchy tune and Ke$ha brings her own brand of dance talk rap to the track making this a perfect Tuesday-ramp-up-for-the-week song.
No Seriously, the chorus is “It’s going down, I’m yelling timber / You better move, you better dance…” Everyone in the video is dressed in slutty-country-couture, well not Pitbull, but he does square dance on a white sand beach. “Swing your partner round and round / End of the night, it’s going down” I think that counts? Its only Tuesday, we all need a good laugh. Oh, and no, I do not apologize for getting this song stuck in your head. If I must suffer then I am taking you down with me.
