Cheap Date: August 8th

It’s Wednesday and you have $30 burning a whole in your pocket. Yesterday video games and DVDs came out, today your local comic book store has your pull list ready, and then on Friday new movies will be out in theaters. Not to mention all the different toys and swag that comes out. What are you going to buy?

Here at Cheap Date, we will help you figure out what to spend your money on.

I will be honest; this is really a dry week. There is not much that stands out to me to recommend that I am really excited about. I could go tell you to watch theBourne Legacy in theaters, but I’m on the fence about that myself. I could tell you to pick up the latest issues of Batman, Batman & Robin, or even try out the first issue of Gambit. But I feel like they are filler issues that do no need to be read in the long run. Either way, I’m going off the regular path and recommending something else…

DC Collectibles: Prints – $20-35

DC Collectibles are putting out various prints which range from $20 to $35 (yes, a little over my usual $30 limit), but they all depend on what size you want. These prints are excellent bits of nerd culture that you can use to decorate your house, especially if you take the time to frame them. These prints are a lot more presentable to non-nerds if you are worried about that sort of thing. I know Natalia would rather have those instead of some of my figures and model kits. DC Collectibles has twenty different prints that you can buy here. This is an easy way to build an art collection to display on your walls.

The ones that I have posted here are my favorites of the bunch.
