I am addicted to free movie screenings. The boyfriend and I have been going lately and this week’s movie was The Way Way Back. This movie has a stellar cast, Sam Rockwell, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Maya Rudolph, AnnaSophia Robb, and the lead; Liam James.

Forteen year old Duncan is the most miserable person on the beach this summer. He has been dragged to the beach house of his personal enemy, and Mom’s new boyfriend, played by Steve Carell. In order to escape his ordeal, he rides a girl’s bike as far as he possibly can and ends up at Water Wizz, the local water park, where he meets a summer savior named Owen (Sam Rockwell). Through his amazing comedic timing and laid back persona Owen is able to bring Duncan back to life and give him steady ground.

This enjoyable summer story was written and directed by Nat Faxon (Walk hard) and Jim Rash (Community). These two did a great job and chose a cast with incredible chemistry. I highly recommend you check it out. The Way Way Back will be in theatres this summer July 5th-ish. Enjoy!
