The Croods Trailer and A Very Dark Lilo and Stitch
Chris Sanders, director of Lilo and Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon, has a new movie set to come out early next year called the Croods. Check out the trailer.
Here’s a couple deleted scenes from Lilo and Stitch that show Lilo’s interaction with tourists and the fate of everyone’s favorite peanut butter-eating fish.
DVR Weekly – Week of 9/23-9/29
Welcome to the brand spanking new DVR Weekly! What is DVR Weekly you might ask? Every week I choose three shows that I have managed to watch on my DVR and I’ll do a small recap and review which means spoilers ahoy. I’ll also mention two shows that are worth checking out. And I’ll give you a glimpse of five shows I’m looking forward to for the following week. Keep in mind, I don’t watch everything. We will still have a few other full episode recaps for some shows (usually ones that I don’t watch). Read More…
The Return of DVR Weekly
So the fall season is getting underway. A few shows have already premiered. Others are being patiently and excitedly awaited. Before we get a true return of DVR Weekly, I wanted to let you know what I’m looking forward to this season and the changes planned for this season on the DVR.
Elementary Season 1 Recap Episode 1 – “Pilot”
For those you who don’t know, Elementary is the new procedural on CBS featuring Sherlock Holmes played by Jonny Lee Miller and the now female Joan Watson played by Lucy Liu set in modern day New York City. This is the recap of the pilot episode so beware spoilers.
Avengers Phase One Blu-Ray Update
So as you may remember from the podcast, I was extremely excited and had preordered the Phase One Blu-Ray collection. Rimowa GmbH sued Disney and Marvel Studios due to similarities between one of their models and the replica of Fury’s briefcase. Up to this point Amazon had simply changed the Blu-Ray collection status to under review and stopped taking preorders. Well, people who preordered the Blu-Ray have now been updated.
We’re writing to let you know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One-Avengers Assembled Collection will not be released by Marvel as originally expected. Instead, Marvel is planning to offer a similar collection in new packaging. The new collection will include the original titles offered with the first version of the item, and is expected to be available in the spring of 2013. To make this easy for you, we updated your order for the original collection and will ship the new collection when it becomes available. The price of the new collection will be the same as the original collection.
To show our appreciation for your understanding, we are providing you with a promo code to receive a free copy of Marvel’s The Avengers (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging) . To be eligible, you must have placed your order between June 1, 2012 and August 28, 2012. Any cancelled orders are not eligible to receive the free copy. Codes must be redeemed by October 15, 2012.
Basically, Amazon is offering a free copy of The Avengers to ensure that customers receive something on the release date. I’m a little hesitant to jump at this now until we get a confirmation on what the new version will be and a solid date.
Deadpool Dancing
If you’ve found your way over to our new YouTube page (youtube.com/callyourselfanerd), you’ll have seen Danny’s GrifballHub buddies joined by the Merc with a Mouth while checking out Dance Central 3. If you haven’t, go check it out! You also can check out a video of zombie dancing and a Vegemite challenge.
But that’s not why I’m posting today. I’m posting because since posting the PSY’s “Gangnam Style” mash-up with Nicki Minaj’s “Starships”, I have managed to get my girlfriend to fall in love with the song and PSY’s amazing dance moves. She is even sharing the video with coworkers. Well, now prepare to be amazed. Deadpool is out there doing it Gangnam style with a Gundam… and Bane.
Thank you critique4geeks for a hilarious video.
Batman of Shanghai
You heard us talk about it this week on the podcast, now check out the video. I must reiterate how excited that something that looks like this can still be made and released on American television. Thank you, DC Nation and Cartoon Network.
Blast from the Past on PSVita
Today is the newest software update (ver. 1.8) for the PSVita. Some features include using the buttons to search the home screen and using the rear touchscreen to scroll the browser. I know it sounds exciting, right? Well here’s the good part. Sony will be releasing PSOne Classics titles for download on the PS Store. Here is a list of titles that are available:
- Arc the Lad
- Cool Boarders 2
- Final Fantasy VII
- Hot Shots Golf 2
- Jet Moto
- Syphon Filter
- Tomb Raider
- Twisted Metal 2
- Wild Arm
There are a lot of complaints about Sony’s small list of offerings after promising hundreds of titles. They are promising to roll out titles on a weekly basis. The games are coming. I am looking forward to playing games that I missed out on while I played GoldenEye on the N64. I mean seriously, I call myself a nerd and I’ve never played Final Fantasy VII?!
Nuketown Counter is Rising…
@CallofDuty posted the above image on Twitter yesterday. We know already that Nuketown 2025 is being included as a pre-order bonus. The added tag of zombies is appropriate as we are all highly anticipating the next iteration of the zombie mode. There are rumors that there be a new addition to the zombie mode that allow a player to become a zombie. Could the counter reading one be a hint to that?
Mixing Gangnam and Booty
Okay, I’m not the resident music nerd, but every now and then I run into some music that I enjoy and must share with others. I love a good song to dance to, but I love even more a good song to laugh to. I hope you all enjoy this mash-up of PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” as much as I did. It should be bumping in the clubs ASAP.
