That Voice: and the women it belongs to … a playlist.
A distinct voice is hard to come by and lately I have been trying to put together a playlist that showcases the deeper side of a woman’s voice. I keep searching for that voice, the one that will just make me stop what I am doing and listen.
After searching the deep corners of my library and using my shazam app at every turn, I have created an amazing playlist. Ahem, if I do say so myself. (shines nails on shirtfront)
Amy Winehouse was such an amazing talent and her voice helped so many women showcase their sound. There will always be a place for the Whitney’s and the Mariah’s on the airwaves, but once in a while I am looking for something different and it is such a shame when you have to travel to the oldies section to get it. Happy Valentine’s Day Nerds

It is that special day where we exchange sweet gestures and decadent treats. What would this day be with out a little mood music? Since most of the greatest songs are about LOVE I had trouble limiting myself to a single playlist. I loaded a few playlists after the jump including some of my favorite lovey-dovey tracks. Enjoy the Gallery after the Jump!
I Choo-Choo-Choose You.

Friday Playlist – Materialistic Weasel
I have been on a mad dash through all the local malls, cyber sales, and even flea markets trying to find those unique gifts for my family and friends. I am sure most of you are experiencing the same thing and in an attempt to help get through those busy malls with a shred of sanity left I have decided to share my shopping playlist with you.
As you can see from the title of this post I prefer to call it my Materialist Weasel playlist. For some reason when I was putting it together I couldn’t get a quote out of my head. In the movie Armageddon, Steve Buscemi said, “I don’t mean to be the materialistic weasel of this group, but do you think we’ll get hazard pay out of this?” Maybe because for every 10 items I browse I see an item that I hope is waiting for me under my tree. hmmm… anyways

Friday Finale Playlist – Twilight Saga Edition

Okay before you start hurling digital rotten produce at my head, hear me out! The Twilight Saga is coming to a long awaited end and this music nerd has mixed feelings about it. I am a fan of the books, but the movies fall short for me. The best thing about the movies were the soundtracks anyway. These soundtracks are like a love letter to indie music. You know, its that stuff that hipsters liked before it became mainstream? Indie music gets a bad rap, but i think it is one of the most original genres right now. Perhaps its prevalence is partially due to the effect that Twilight Saga has had on pop culture. So this Friday playlist is an hour of music from the five Twilight Saga soundtracks. Enjoy!
Famous Frontman Friday : Dave Grohl
For a change of pace I have compiled a collection of Dave Grohl hits. For those of you scratching your head right now here is the low down. Dave Grohl is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, writer, & all around awesome performer. He is perhaps best known as the frontman of the Foo Fighters. They have had several hits and tour all over the world. He was also the drummer for Nirvana and collaborated with Cobain on many songs including Heart Shaped Box and Marigold. In addition to his frontman duties, he will occasionally step in as a drummer for Queens of the Stoneage and other bands. One of my favorite guest-drum-stints was his work on “With Teeth” for Nine Inch Nails. C’mon you have Trent Reznor and Dave Grohl on the same album! Epic.
Okay I will halt my fangirl admiration and get to the good stuff. Below you shall find a list of the best known Grohl. Please Enjoy!

Friday Fall Playlist
Indian Summer has ended and winter is not quite here yet. I need a mellow mix to help with the transition. I was listening to some Earth Wind and Fire earlier and I never actually realized how amazing the opening lyrics are:
Do you remember the 21st of September / Love was changing the minds of pretenders /while chasing the clouds away
Immediate nostalgia mixed with hope, which is kind of what I feel when I think of Autumn. The rest of the songs were added to my Autumnal Equinox mix because they fit in that theme either by lyric or melodic feeling. Enjoy!
