Assassin’s Creed 3 Gameplay Trailer

Pretty straight forward. Ubisoft released the Assassin’s Creed 3 gameplay trailer today. Here it is via joystiq.

Continue after the jump for some of my opinion.Keep in mind this trailer is from a pre-alpha version of the game. So things may be added or removed from what we see in this trailer.

I’m still not completely sold on the time period. There was some hint of King George in an earlier game, but the wilderness and cities displayed don’t inspire a lot of confidence as far as free-running possibilities. The gameplay featuring tree movement does help to assuage some concerns.

We definitely are not getting a lot of story just yet, but do we ever? I’m working my way through Brotherhood and Revelations to prepare and understand where Desmond is in relation to these events.

Here’s hoping the combat is changed a bit more to avoid the constant waiting for a counter. But hey, you get to fight a bear. Hopefully it doesn’t get to be as much a pain as in Red Dead Redemption.
