Double Fine Adventure Reveals to be Broken Age

Way back in March of last year, I put in my helping hand to Tim Schafer’s then initially titled “Double Fine Adventure” when it went to break records on Kickstarter. A year later with a lot of fun updates in between, we get our first look in a teaser for the game now titled Broken Age.

Nerds Play: Defiance Beta

Defiance is a new IP coming next month. The most interesting thing about this new IP is the fact that not only will there will be a brand new TV series on the Syfy Channel, but two weeks before there will be a new MMO. That is a very interesting proposition. Whether it will succeed or not is still up in the air but I am excited to find out.

We got into the Defiance MMO beta and played a bit for the Xbox 360. Or to be more precise I played a little bit and Ricky provided commentary for all my wandering around.

Bombermine

I have fond memories of playing Bomberman on numerous consoles. The panic and the outsmarting of other players made the game one of the most addicting piece of fun I have ever run into. Now there’s a way to do that in your browser with a lot more people.

An ARG for Bungie’s New Destiny

Known for their ARGs (Alternate Reality Game) to promote games, Bungie has released an ARG to get fans riled up before the announcement that is coming next week. Bungie has already released a few images to entice fans, but little to nothing is known about the next game from the creators of Marathon and Halo.

Head to ARG to try to figure it out on your own. Or if you need help, may I suggest heading to one of the fan sites.

Temple Run 2 Out Tonight on iOS

Not too long ago, the CYaN team was addicted to Temple Run. We’ve since been moved on but we may be filling Guy Dangerous’ ever-moving shoes very soon. None of us use Apple products so we won’t be able to play as soon as later tonight in the US, but slashgear reports Android users can look forward to Temple Run 2 next week. Check out this video featuring some of the new gameplay features:

We’ll let you know if this app is as addictive as the last when we get our hands on it.

Pokemon X & Y Annouced

If you are around my age, then you grew up when Pokemon began its rise in popularity here in the United States. For me, Pokemon captured me with its simplistic RPG elements and “gotta catch ’em all” mantra that make a completionist’s wet dream. Yesterday, Nintendo announced the first set of games (since they always release in twos) developed for the 3DS.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y brings a brand new generation of Pokemon to an updated platform. For the first time, in a long time, Pokemon looks different from anything that I remember. They will finally show Pokemon use their attack animations in full 3D.

What else can I say? They hooked me into Pokemon again.
