Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 8 Recap: Gliding Over All

Walt is actually showing some remorse in this episode, not enough to actually do anything to make things right, but he does seems a bit affected by all the bad he has done, is doing, and will do. This mid-season finale is kind of a fast forward through the building of Walt’s empire. For a smart man I am not sure if he thought through this plan. This was a violence packed episode and it gives us all a lot to look forward to next year when this season continues. As a quick side note, the music is great in this episode. I have a couple songs mentioned after the jump. Read More…

Addictive Apps: Jetpack Joyride

I have been playing this side-scrolling, action packed, video game app for about two weeks. I thought my attention would wane by now, but it has become an Addictive App for me.

Jetpack Joyride is a new game from Half Brick (the same people who brought you Fruit Ninja). It is available on all Apple  iOS devices, Android devices and as an app on Facebook. I am an Android user and this was released for android on 08/19/2012 via the Amazon Appstore; whereas the Apple users have had this game since 09/01/2011.

So the story is that an unhappy employee, Barry, stumbles across a secret lab where they are developing jet packs. He is immediately enthralled and steals the jet pack, but along the way to his escape he is forced to dodge missiles, stationary and rotating zappers as well as laser beams that follow him throughout the laboratory. Foo Fighters on Hiatus

“Well, well, well. The f*cking Reading festival. You guys realize we’ve got a lot of songs to play. It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.”

If you are going to leave for an indefinite hiatus, I suppose the Foo Fighters have picked the perfect time. They have been touring all over the world in the last year. Their latest album Wasting Light had multiple Grammy wins. Plus, as I have said in the past, this is a band that delivers quality each and every album. I will wait patiently until they are ready to come back. Hopefully, their down time is spent well and they find inspiration.

UPDATE: Dave may have pulled that trigger a bit prematurely as the Foo Fighters still have some shows on their schedule in just a few weeks… Perhaps he was exaggerating??? Lets Pray!

The Perks of Being an advanced movie review…

It is hard to maintain the feeling you get while reading a book when you watch a movie. Film is so objective that you tend to lose parts that may feel essential to the reader. It stands to reason that the perfect way to overcome that obstacle is to have the author write the screenplay then direct the movie. Now, this may not always work, but for The Perks of Being a Wallflower… it did.

Stephen Chbosky did such an amazing job of adapting his book to the big screen. I was fortunate enough to watch it early, and even talk to the man myself! Okay perhaps I should mention that there were rows and rows of movie seats between us, but he looked right at me and answered the question I managed to scrape out of my cluttered mind… so yeah, it totally counts.

There are no spoilers beyond this point so please do not hesitate! Click to read myreview.

Batman of Shanghai

You heard us talk about it this week on the podcast, now check out the video. I must reiterate how excited that something that looks like this can still be made and released on American television. Thank you, DC Nation and Cartoon Network.

Breaking Bad Season 5 Episode 7 Recap: Say My Name

Once upon a time, a deal was brokered in a desert…

Walt left us hanging last week with a proposal where everybody wins. This week we finally get to know what this master plans is. Walt wants Declan, another Meth peddler who dreams of empires, to run his distribution. Why should Declan agree? Glad you asked… Read More…

Blast from the Past on PSVita

Today is the newest software update (ver. 1.8) for the PSVita. Some features include using the buttons to search the home screen and using the rear touchscreen to scroll the browser. I know it sounds exciting, right? Well here’s the good part. Sony will be releasing PSOne Classics titles for download on the PS Store. Here is a list of titles that are available:

  • Arc the Lad
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tomb Raider
  • Twisted Metal 2
  • Wild Arm

There are a lot of complaints about Sony’s small list of offerings after promising hundreds of titles. They are promising to roll out titles on a weekly basis. The games are coming. I am looking forward to playing games that I missed out on while I played GoldenEye on the N64. I mean seriously, I call myself a nerd and I’ve never played Final Fantasy VII?!

Nuketown Counter is Rising…

Nuketown meets Zombies

@CallofDuty posted the above image on Twitter yesterday. We know already that Nuketown 2025 is being included as a pre-order bonus. The added tag of zombies is appropriate as we are all highly anticipating the next iteration of the zombie mode. There are rumors that there be a new addition to the zombie mode that allow a player to become a zombie. Could the counter reading one be a hint to that?

Mixing Gangnam and Booty

Okay, I’m not the resident music nerd, but every now and then I run into some music that I enjoy and must share with others. I love a good song to dance to, but I love even more a good song to laugh to. I hope you all enjoy this mash-up of PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” as much as I did. It should be bumping in the clubs ASAP.
